Swarm Sign Five 2021 NLL Entry Draft Selections and TJ Comizio

DULUTH, Ga. (September 8, 2021) – This week the Georgia Swarm signed five members from its 2021 NLL Entry Draft class as well as TJ Comizio, a 2019 NLL Entry Draft selection, to two-year deals.

Jordan Ackie, the Swarm’s second-overall pick in the draft, signed his rookie contract this week after most recently playing with Maryville University. Ackie is an all-around asset as he makes an impact on defense and in transition as well as can take faceoffs.

The No. 25 pick overall, Aden Walsh also signed a deal with the Swarm this week. The goalkeeper out of Harford Community College made 31 saves across seven games totaling two wins during the 2021 season.

The Swarm’s third pick in the second round, Thomas Semple is also suiting up with the Swarm for training camp. Semple comes from Young Harris College where he totaled 14 goals and five assists throughout six games during the 2020 season.

The 32nd overall pick, Will Cecile, signed his rookie contract with Georgia. Cecile scored two goals with the Burlington Chiefs in 2019 and netted three game-winning goals in the World Junior Lacrosse Championship in Winnipeg.

Righty-defender Owen Russell was drafted 41st overall by the Swarm in this year’s draft. Russell has totaled eight points and a .143 shooting percentage with Victoria Jr. A since 2019.

Comizio played in 60 games as a midfielder throughout his four years at Villanova University. The Basking Ridge, N.J. native totaled 172 ground balls, 61 caused turnovers, 23 assists and two goals with the Wildcats.

The Georgia Swarm returns to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Field at Gas South Arena on Dec. 4 when they face the Philadelphia Wings in the season opener. Full season memberships start at just $10 per game. Visit georgiaswarm.com/tickets for more details.
