GEORGIA SWARM RE-SIGNS MVP BRETT DOBSON TO FOUR-YEAR EXTENSION 

DULUTH, GA (September 21, 2026) — The Georgia Swarm announced that the team has signed goaltender Brett Dobson to a four-year contract extension, keeping the 2026 National Lacrosse League MVP and Goaltender of the Year in Georgia through the 2029-30 season.

Head Coach Ed Comeau on the Brett Dobson extension: “Brett is coming off the best season statistically in the history of our league. We are very excited to have him committed to the Swarm for the next four years. He is one of the leaders on our team and is focused on leading us further in the coming years.”

Dobson, who was named to the NLL First Team following a historic 2026 campaign, was entering the final year of his current contract. The extension ensures one of the league’s premier goaltenders will remain a cornerstone of the Swarm for years to come.

In 2026, Dobson established himself as one of the NLL’s most dominant players, earning MVP and Goaltender of the Year honors while leading the league with a 7.86 goals-against average and setting the tone for a Georgia defense that helped the Swarm reach the postseason.

“Personally, I think we’ve done a really good job of drafting a lot of young talent, and we’ve started to build something special in Georgia,” Dobson said. “I felt like it was a no-brainer to extend my career in Georgia. I’m extremely grateful to continue being coached by Ed Comeau, one of the greatest head coaches of all time.

“The Georgia Swarm is a family, and I’m extremely proud to be a part of this organization. I take great pride in being able to wear one jersey for my entire career. That pride comes from guys like Mac (Jordan MacIntosh), Colzie (Bryan Cole), Shug (Shayne Jackson), and Lyle Thompson, who paved the way down here by embodying that mentality. To extend was a no-brainer. We have a great core group of guys, and I’m extremely excited to try and bring a championship back to Georgia.”

Dobson joins a young and talented Swarm core that includes recent draft picks and emerging stars, as well as established veterans who have helped establish the culture in Georgia. Since joining the Swarm, Dobson has quickly developed into one of the league’s elite goaltenders and a central figure in the organization’s future.

With Dobson now under contract through 2030, the Swarm continues to build around a core focused on bringing the franchise its first NLL championship since 2017.
