Swarm expand radio broadcast team

Chris Mooneyham and Brandon Joseph will call Swarm home games on Atlanta Sports X

The 2017 NLL World Champion Georgia Swarm are proud to announce the hiring of Chris Mooneyham and Brandon Joseph to the Swarm’s home radio broadcast team. For the second-straight season, all home Swarm games are airing live on Atlanta Sports X 1230AM/106.3 FM and at atlsportsx.com.

Mooneyham (play-by-play) and Joseph (color commentator) will make their season debut Saturday night during the Swarm’s home contest against the Vancouver Warriors at 7:05 p.m. All home and away Swarm games in 2018-19 are also available for viewing on the Bleacher Report Live app. Previously the Swarm’s radio feed was syndicated from the team’s TV broadcast feed.

“We’re extremely excited about the addition of Chris and Brandon to the Swarm’s radio booth,” said David Dickey, president of Dickey Broadcasting. “Both guys have been a part of Dickey Broadcasting for many years, so we’re excited for this opportunity for them and the Swarm. The Swarm have been a great addition to our sports radio line-up, and we look forward to another successful season.”

“Giving Swarm fans a dedicated radio broadcast team is just another way we’re expanding the gameday coverage for our fans so that there’s more opportunities to experience the electric atmosphere of Swarm home games,” Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta said. “We couldn’t be more enthusiastic to have two storied professionals in Chris and Brandon join our broadcast team.”

Mooneyham is a 20-year broadcast veteran who is currently a host, anchor and play-by-play man for Atlanta’s sports leader, 680 The Fan/93.7FM. Aside from his work on 680, you can find Mooneyham reporting on the sidelines for the television broadcasts of Kennesaw State University football, as the play-by-play man for Owls Men’s Basketball and as the play-by-play man for the highly decorated Emory University baseball team.

His excitement when it comes to joining the Swarm family, is obvious. “I would like to thank the first-class leadership of the Swarm organization. Through various shows at 680, I have had the opportunity to meet and interview the Arlottas, Swarm head coach Ed Comeau and others in the front office. When I found out there was any chance for me to join the family, I jumped at it.”

Joseph’s 10-year radio career started with Q100 before he joined the Dickey Broadcasting team. Joseph currently works with “Hometeam” Brandon Leak, former Georgia Tech quarterback Joe Hamilton,Tug Cowart and former University of Georgia quarterback Hutson Mason every day on Atlanta Sports X. He brings a wealth of experience broadcasting a wide range of professional, collegiate, and high school sports.

“I am really excited to join a championship organization, especially one that is near and dear to my heart in Gwinnett County,” Joseph said. “The play on the field is second to none. It starts at the top with the Arlottas, and it is a true family-run organization. The fast and physical play of the NLL is true excitement, and I am honored to be with the premier team in the Georgia Swarm.”

The Swarm are hosting Country Night on Saturday presented by Georgia Lottery, and multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Jerrod Niemann will perform in the Swarm’s Goal Zone Club during halftime and postgame.

Early arriving fans will receive Swarm cowbells courtesy of Georgia Lottery. Lower Level Tickets to Country Night featuring Jerrod Niemann start as low as $25 and can be purchased online at GeorgiaSwarm.com/CountryNight or by calling 844-4-GASWARM.
