With the 2018 NLL Entry Draft right around the corner, the Georgia Swarm is eager to add a fresh crop of rookies to its talented roster. Georgia’s first pick in the draft is No. 8 overall before its five second round draft picks, four of them in a row. Fans can catch all the 2018 NLL Entry Draft action live via B/R Live.
Taking place at Xfinity Live! at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 25 in Philadelphia, Penn., the draft is the perfect opportunity for the Swarm to bolster its ranks. Georgia is known for its talented roster filled with high-character individuals. In the 2017-18 season, the 20-man Active Roster consisted of 15 first round picks.
“We are excited for the upcoming draft in Philadelphia,” Swarm Owner and General Manager John Arlotta said. “With one first-round pick and five second-round picks, we have a great opportunity to address our team needs that were created from the Expansion Draft.”
The Swarm finished its championship-defending season with a six-game win streak to take sole possession of first place in the East Division with an 11-7 record. After falling to the Rochester Knighthawks in the East Division Finals, Georgia is ready to finish the offseason strong with a successful draft.
In the 2017 Entry Draft, the Swarm selected Zed Williams No. 4 overall. The University of Virginia product played in nine games for the Swarm and posted eight points (5G, 3A), 41 loose balls, and 7 caused turnovers in his rookie season.
Georgia opens the 2018-19 NLL season on Saturday, Dec. 1 with a Meeting of the Champions against the Saskatchewan Rush at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.
