Swarm Acquire Stephan Leblanc in Trade with Panther City

The Georgia Swarm announced today they have traded a second-round selection in the 2022 NLL Draft to Panther City Lacrosse Club in exchange for Stephan Leblanc.

Leblanc spent the 2022 season to date with the Halifax Thunderbirds, who dealt Leblanc to Panther City last evening along with a second-round 2024 NLL Entry Draft choice in exchange for Dawson Theede.

During the 2021-22 season with the Thunderbirds, the 6’1″ lefty forward has totaled eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points across 10 games.

“We are really excited to have Stephan join our team,” said Owner and General Manager John Arlotta. “He is an experienced NLL player who has won a Champions Cup [2011, Toronto Rock] and brings great vision to the field. We expect him to make significant contributions to our offense – many of which don’t always show up in a box score.”

The Dundas, Ontario native’s journey in the NLL began in 2009 when the Toronto Rock drafted him 11th overall. During his inaugural season, Leblanc was named the 2010 Rookie of the Year and named to the All-Rookie Team, Leblanc played eight season with the Rock and was traded to the New England BlackWolves (now Albany FireWolves) during the 2017-18 season. During the 2011 season, the Queens University of Charlotte profit was placed on the All-League Second Team after recording 76 points on the season (33G, 43A).

“Steph Leblanc has been an excellent player in this league for many years,” said Head Coach Ed Comeau. “We are thrilled to have him join the Swarm and bring his experience and selfless play to the team.”

Throughout 12 season of play, the forward has suited up for 188 games totaling 317 goals, 516 assists, 833 points, 67 power play goals, 142 power play assists, 858 loose balls, and 57 caused turnovers.

Leblanc starts his journey with the Georgia Swarm (6-6) this Saturday, March, 19, against the Albany FireWolves at MVP Arena. You can see LeBlanc and the rest of the Georgia Swarm squad live in person on April 1 when the Georgia hosts his former team, the Toronto Rock, at Sting City.
