Georgia clinched the No. 1 playoff seed in the East Division and the East’s regular-season division title on Friday night — both are firsts in franchise history. Heading into the weekend, the Swarm needed a win or a Toronto loss to claim the East’s No. 1 seed. With Buffalo’s 13-8 upset victory against Toronto at Air Canada Centre on Friday evening, the Swarm punched its top-seeded ticket with three weeks remaining in the regular season.
The NLL Division Finals is a two game series between the No. 1 seed and the winner of the 2nd and 3rd seed first-round matchup in the division. If the clubs each win one game in the Division Finals, a 10-minute overtime ‘mini-game’ shall be played immediately following the conclusion of the second game. If this mini-game is tied upon the conclusion of the 10 minutes, sudden death overtime will occur.
