Georgia Trades Ethan Walker and a First Round Draft Pick to Albany for Andrew Kew and Ethan Woods

DULUTH, Ga. (August 24, 2022) – The Georgia Swarm continued its free agency surge today after trading lefty forward Ethan Walker and the seventh overall Draft Pick in the 2022 NLL Draft to the Albany FireWolves in exchange for prolific lefty forward Andrew Kew and goaltender Ethan Woods.

“The Georgia Swarm organization and I would like to thank Ethan Walker for all that he has done for the team this past season,” said Owner and General Manager John Arlotta. “It was a tough decision, but we wish Walker the best in Albany.”

Kew concluded the 2021-22 season ranked second on the FireWolves behind NLL 2021-22 goals co-leader Joe Reserterits with 33, third in points (59) and assists (26), while recording 14 power-play points. The Oakville, Ontario native started his career in the NLL after signing with the New England Black Wolves in 2019. Kew made the move with the team from New England to Albany and signed with the FireWolves in 2021.

With the signing of Woods, the Swarm now have three goaltenders on its roster: Woods, Craig Wende and last week’s free agency signee, Dustin Hill. Woods was drafted by the New England Black Wolves in 2018 and has been learning behind one of the NLL’s top goaltenders, Doug Jamieson. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound goaltender played 18:07 minutes across five games between the pipes during the 2021-22 season. Woods produced a 9.94 goals-against average while making six saves and ending with a .667 save percentage.
