Andy Arlotta nominated to a three-year term on the Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors

ATLANTA (October 14, 2020) – Georgia Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta was nominated to a three-year term on the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. His term runs through 2023.

The Board of Directors is made up of influential business leaders in Gwinnett County, and they are responsible for upholding the mission and goals of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett.  Arlotta joined the Board in Sept. 2019 as a Chairman’s Appointee.

“Being nominated to a three-year term on the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Board of Commerce is truly an honor, and I am grateful that my colleagues in this distinguished institution have recognized my efforts this past year as a Chairman’s Appointee,” Arlotta said. “This opportunity allows me to continue to serve Gwinnett businesses with the goal of strengthening our community and economic future.”

“The incoming leadership of the Gwinnett Chamber’s board of directors strongly represents our great county,” said Gwinnett Chamber President & CEO Nick Masino. “I look forward to working with Andy Arlotta and the board as we continue to serve our members and the community.”

Since moving to Georgia, Arlotta and the Swarm brought Atlanta its first professional sporting world championship in nearly 22 years back in 2017 and have advanced to the postseason every year, not including the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season. Ahead of the 2019-20 season, he brought professional lacrosse to Atlanta households with a local television broadcast deal with Atlanta’s CW69.

The team has seen success on and off the floor and experienced significant growths in its number of season ticket holders (up 8% from 2018-19), average attendance (up 14% from 2018-19), sponsorship revenue (up 231% from 2016) and ticket revenue (up 25% from 2017-18).

Arlotta has owned the Swarm with his father, John, since 2008 and managed the relocation of the team to the Metro Atlanta area in 2015. He has served as the Swarm’s president since 2013 and oversees all aspects of the Swarm’s day-to-day business operations, including sales, sponsorship, marketing, community relations, broadcasting, and communications.

With no key dates set yet for the 2020-21 NLL season, Arlotta and the Swarm have renewed 81% of their season ticket memberships and numerous sponsorships and added new key partners, such as Engineered Solutions of Georgia to a five-year partnership.

Arlotta takes great pride in being active in the local community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Atlanta Sports Council, and an Executive Board member of the Northeast Georgia Council – Boy Scouts of America, and a Board Member of the Gwinnett YMCA.

A native of Libertyville, Ill., Arlotta graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications.

About the Georgia Swarm:

The Georgia Swarm Pro Lacrosse team is a member of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), which is North America’s professional indoor lacrosse league featuring the best players in the world. In 2017, the Swarm became NLL World Champions after a historic 17-5 season. Founded in 1986, the NLL ranks third in average attendance for professional indoor sports worldwide behind only the NHL and NBA. The league is comprised of 14 franchises across the U.S. and Canada and the 2020-21 NLL season will mark the league’s 35th year. The Swarm compete in an 18-game regular season schedule from December to April, followed by the NLL Playoffs in May and June. The NLL may modify that schedule for the 2020-21 season based on market conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Swarm play their home games at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Field at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Ga.
