ATLANTA (September 30, 2019) – Georgia Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta has been named to the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as a Chairman’s Appointee.
The core group of influential members is responsible for upholding the mission and goals of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett, and Arlotta’s inclusion will help enhance the ability of the Chamber to continue its high-quality service and programs which assist in promoting and sustaining a pro-business environment in the State of Georgia’s second most populated county.
“I’m incredibly honored to join this prestigious board as a Chairman’s Appointee for 2020,” Arlotta said. “Ever since my family and I moved to Georgia, we have been constantly amazed at how welcoming this community is, and being able to serve Gwinnett and help it attain its goals feels like I’m giving back to a community that has provided the Swarm with so much.”
“An active, involved and supportive leadership is an indispensable asset for the continued success of our organization and the Gwinnett Chamber is excited to welcome Andy Arlotta to our Board of Directors,” says President & CEO Nick Masino. “Just as the Georgia Swarm continues to offer exciting sports and entertainment to its fans, Andy’s involvement on our board will help us continue to enhance our high-quality services and programs that assist in promoting and sustaining a pro-business environment in Gwinnett.”
Arlotta has owned the Swarm with his father, John, since 2008 and managed the relocation of the team to the Metro Atlanta area in 2015. He has served as the Swarm’s president since 2013 and oversees all aspects of the Swarm’s day-to-day business operations, including sales, sponsorship, marketing, community relations, broadcasting, and communications.
Since moving to Georgia, Arlotta and the Swarm brought Atlanta its first professional sporting world championship in nearly 22 years back in 2017. The team has seen success on and off the floor and experienced significant growths in its number of season ticket holders (up 26% from 2017-18), average attendance (up 51% from 2017-18), group tickets per game (up 68% from 2017-18), sponsorship revenue (up 229% from 2016) and ticket revenue (up 23% from 2017-18).
Arlotta also brought the Swarm’s merchandising in-house and gave his front office team full control of designing and selling Swarm-branded apparel. The organization experienced immediate success in merch sales, increasing its net margin by 137% compared to 2017-18.
Arlotta takes great pride in being active in the local community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Atlanta Sports Council, and Executive Board member of the Northeast Georgia Council – Boy Scouts of America, and a Board Member of the Gwinnett YMCA.
A native of Libertyville, Ill., Arlotta graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications.
