| Lyle Thompson
Acquired: Lyle Thompson was selected first overall in the 2015 National Lacrosse League (NLL) draft by the Georgia Swarm. He has remained with the Swarm throughout his professional indoor lacrosse career. In the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), Thompson plays for the Cannons Lacrosse Club. Lyle Thompson, born on September 9, 1992, is a Haudenosaunee professional lacrosse player from the Hawk Clan of the Onondaga Nation. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 180 pounds, he plays as an attackman in field lacrosse and a forward in box lacrosse, shooting right-handed. Thompson had a standout collegiate career at the University at Albany, where he became the first male player to win the Tewaaraton Trophy in consecutive seasons (2014 and 2015). He set NCAA Division I records for career points (400) and assists (225). Professionally, Thompson has earned multiple accolades, including the NLL Most Valuable Player award in 2017 and the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) MVP award in 2019. Internationally, he represents the Haudenosaunee men’s national lacrosse team, contributing to their bronze medal finishes in the 2014, 2018, and 2023 World Lacrosse Championships. |
