Career

NLL: Shayne Jackson began his NLL career with the Georgia Swarm in 2013, where he set a team record for points in a rookie season with 63 (24 goals, 39 assists) and grabbed 54 loose balls. His performance earned him a spot on the 2013 NLL All-Rookie Team, along with two NLL Rookie of the Week honors. In 2014, he recorded 51 points (18 goals, 33 assists) and 56 loose balls, tallying at least one point in every game. The following year, Jackson led the Swarm in points (78), goals (30), and assists (48) in 18 games. In 2016, he continued to impress, scoring 83 points (40 goals, 43 assists) and collecting 75 loose balls, while also leading the team in shooting percentage with a .226 mark. Jackson’s strong play continued into 2017, as he posted 84 points (39 goals, 45 assists), scooped up 75 loose balls, and added 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists) in the playoffs.

 

In 2017-18, Jackson had another standout season with 85 points (33 goals, 52 assists), 75 loose balls, and 3 caused turnovers, setting a career-high in assists. He also contributed 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists) in the postseason. In 2018-19, Jackson posted 80 points (31 goals, 49 assists) and 69 loose balls, marking his fifth consecutive season of recording 30 or more goals. He also added 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) in the postseason. During the 2019-20 season, Jackson was named the NLL MVP, finishing with 73 points (31 goals, 42 assists), 65 loose balls, and a 20.8 shooting percentage. He netted a record-tying 9th hat trick of the season and led the team in points in multiple games, including 9 points (2 goals, 7 assists) against the Roughnecks. In the 2021-22 season, Jackson ranked second on the team in points (77), goals (36), and assists (41), playing in 17 of 18 games. He recorded 3 game-winning goals, 6 hat tricks, and totaled 55 loose balls, 6 power-play goals, and 10 power-play assists. His season-best performance came against Rochester on March 4, where he scored 5 goals and recorded 8 points, including the game-winning overtime goal.

NCAA: In 2009, Shayne Jackson played a key role in Onondaga Community College’s undefeated 16-0 season, helping the Lazers win the NJCAA National Championship. The following year, in 2010, he was named the NJCAA Player of the Year after leading Onondaga with 58 goals, 63 assists, and 121 points, helping the team to a 16-3 record and a national championship victory over CCBC-Essex. In 2011, he transferred to Limestone University, where he had an outstanding season, scoring 32 goals and a program-record 50 assists for 82 points, ranking fifth in Limestone’s history for single-season points. He was named USILA First-Team All-American, Jac Coyne/Lacrosse Magazine Online National Division II Player of the Year, and Conference Carolinas Co-Player of the Year. His performance also earned him a spot as a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, marking the first time a Limestone player had been nominated. In 2012, he capped off his collegiate career at Limestone with 71 points (27 goals, 44 assists) in 19 games, further solidifying his legacy. In the 2023-24 season with the Georgia Swarm, Jackson had a career high of 93 points (33 goals, 60 assists.)
