(PHILADELPHIA – DEC. 27, 2016)The National Lacrosse League (NLL), the largest men’s professional indoor lacrosse league in North America, today announced a new partnership with UHWK, a sporting goods company that develops player point-of-view (POV) cameras. As the Official Video Camera Provider of the NLL, UHWK will provide first-person POV cameras to the League’s nine teams for its 31st season, enabling the capture of on-the-field, in-action footage from the athletes’ perspective.

“The National Lacrosse League and the UHWK player camera partnership to tie the actual players vision into the fan experience and the growth of the game is a dream come true,” said UHWK Vice President Sales and Strategic Partnerships, Conor Stokes. “We tip our hat to the leagues leadership and initiative that has been demonstrated to make this happen. Much respect as well goes to the players who've raised their hands wanting to wear the UHWK. Giving them the ability to access their own point-of-view will tremendously help them game after game when reevaluating their plays from the first person perspective. We chalk this one up as a big win, not only for the NLL, UHWK and lacrosse, but for sports in general.”

UHWK cameras will be leveraged both in practices and in games by players on each NLL team. The cameras’ ergonomic and lightweight design allows for unobtrusive wear on helmets, so the League can capture action-packed content without interfering with athlete performance. They can film up to 110 minutes of gameplay; record in 1080p HD video for high-quality footage; and capture 150-degree wide angle for a far-reaching view of the field.

With this new collaboration, the high speed and intensity of an NLL game from players’ POV will be chronicled via exclusive content on the NLL’s website, social channels, and the newly-launched NLLTV.com. By integrating this innovative technology into the game, the NLL will immerse fans in the non-stop action and excitement of box lacrosse like never before.

"We always want to enrich the fan viewing experience and this new partnership with UHWK and their high resolution POV camera technology is the future of consuming live sports in the digital age. We are committed to investing in technologies and innovations that will elevate the fan experience to new heights and continue to propel us forward and disrupt traditional sports viewing,” said Nick Sakiewicz, Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League. “UHWK’s innovative cameras will help make the NLL more accessible, exciting and immersive for audiences across North America – reinvigorating existing fans and attracting new ones to the sport, the game and the League.”
