Swarm trades Ethan O’Connor to Buffalo

Swarm acquires two future draft picks

The 2017 NLL World Champion Georgia Swarm today announced that it has traded transition player Ethan O’Connor to the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for two future NLL Entry Draft selections, a fourth round pick in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft and a third round pick in the 2021 NLL Entry Draft.

“Ethan was an important part of our defense during our championship run in 2017, and we appreciate all he has done during his time with the Swarm,” Swarm Owner and General Manager John Arlotta said. “We wish him all the best.”

O’Connor, 26, was selected in the first round (No. 9 overall) in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft by the Toronto Rock. Georgia originally acquired the Milton, Ontario native and a first round pick in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft for transition player Brock Sorensen.

An alum of Hobart College, O’Connor helped the Swarm earn its first-ever NLL Cup in 2017. During his four seasons with the Swarm, the right-hander has played in 68 games and posted 34 points (9G, 25A) while collecting 325 loose balls and causing 37 turnovers.

Over the course of his five-year NLL career, O’Connor has recorded 43 points (14G, 29A), 458 loose balls, and 55 caused turnovers across 85 games.

The deal is currently pending league approval.
