Swarm hosting Training Camp this weekend at Infinite Energy Arena

This weekend will mark the Swarm's first-ever Training Camp hosted in Atlanta

The Georgia Swarm will begin its Training Camp for the upcoming 2018-19 season at Infinite Energy Arena this Saturday and Sunday. To celebrate the team’s first-ever Training Camp taking place in Atlanta, the Swarm will be hosting an open practice on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. for the general public to watch. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., and there will be no charge for admission.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet Swarm players and coaches after Saturday’s practice as well to get autographs and photographs. During the event, the Swarm’s new apparel line will be available for purchase from The Swarm Shop in the main concourse area. Fans who spend $50 on merchandise will receive a complimentary New Era 2017 NLL World Champions hat while supplies last.

Fans can RSVP for the event at GeorgiaSwarm.com/Camp. Upon arriving, fans can check-in at the Fan Central table inside the main concourse area to receive a Swarm Training Camp access pass, a Swarm swag bag, and a 2018 Team Poster. Those in attendance will also have the chance to win signed team jerseys by registering at the Fan Central table.

“It’s always been a goal of ours to host training camp in Atlanta for our fans,” Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta said. “This is a unique opportunity for our fanbase to get a behind-the-scenes look at our team as we start preparing for another exciting season of Swarm Lacrosse. This open practice is also perfect for those who may be new to lacrosse and want to see what the Swarm Experience is all about.”

Georgia continues its Training Camp on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Sting City before heading to the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville from Dec. 7-9 for the second half of Training Camp.

After Training Camp concludes, the Swarm will finalize its Active Roster to 21 players and a four-player Practice Squad.

“Our Training Camp is going to be high-intensity and fast-paced,” Swarm head coach Ed Comeau said. “We will be looking at a number of draft picks and free agents. We expect all of our players, including returning veterans, to compete for their roster spots for the 2018-19 season. Our Home Opener is right around the corner, and we need to ensure we are ready to go.”
