RISING SWARM TAKE ON PANTHER CITY IN GEORGIA

DULUTH, GA. (January 4, 2024) – After three consecutive weekends on the road, the Georgia Swarm are ready to return home this Saturday night at Gas South Arena. The Swarm face off against Panther City for Swarm Box League Night at 7:30PM ET.

The Georgia Swarm (3-1) have kicked off the season on a high note after securing a recent 9-8 victory against the 2023 NLL Champions the Buffalo Bandits, which elevated the Swarm into 3rd place in the NLL standings. This marks the Swarm’s best start in their first four games since 2019 and the fifth time in franchise history since the inaugural year in 2005. With an impressive 11-4 record in their last 15 regular season games, the Swarm are looking to maintain their momentum.

The upcoming game against Panther City will be the second meeting in NLL history between the two teams, with the last encounter taking place on April 23, 2022, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, where the Swarm emerged victorious 12-9.

Swarm forward, Lyle Thompson, leads the team in points (22) and goals (11) through four games and ranks third in assists (11). Assistant Captain Shayne Jackson closely follows Thompson with 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists.) Defensively, the Swarm continues to showcase its prowess, with goaltender Brett Dobson making an impact with 157 saves this season. John Ranagan leads the defense in blocked shots (6), and TJ Comizio has been relentless in securing loose balls with 35 this season.

For Panther City Lacrosse Club, Callum Crawford remains a force, contributing 15 points (9 goals, 6 assists), two powerplays, and 29 shots on goal. Crawford and Panther City last played the Toronto Rock on December 22 and is geared up to face the Swarm after a bye week.

The faceoff between the Georgia Swarm and Panther City Lacrosse Club is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET this Saturday at Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos Field at Gas South Arena.
