Tabitha Turner

Sideline Reporter
Tabitha Turner

Tabitha Turner, a native of Miami, FL born April 7, 1987 to mother Cora Turner, is the youngest of four children: two sisters and a brother, and also has two half-sisters and a half-brother.

She grew up playing several sports, including basketball, volleyball, softball and running track and cross-country, and also played the clarinet and viola in her school marching band and orchestra. She narrowed her expertise to basketball when she signed a scholarship with Georgia Tech where she lettered for four years. There she completed a double major in Civil Engineering and Marketing Management, and held office as Treasurer for the Nu Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Upon completion of her degrees at Georgia Tech, she moved to Chicago, IL where she worked as a transportation engineer for five years.

While there she rediscovered her love for sports and entertainment media and participated in state pageants, where she competed and placed in several different competitions. She currently holds the title of International Ms. Illinois 2016 and will soon be handing down her crown to the next reigning queen. Tabitha decided she’d had enough of the cold weather and wanted to be closer to her family where it was warm, so she resigned from her job in Chicago and enrolled in to the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Lawrenceville, GA in March of 2016. After graduation from broadcasting school, Tabitha worked for various freelance entertainment groups and sports teams, as well as took acting classes, to help build her resume and experience.

Tabitha works as a traffic engineer during the day in Atlanta, GA, and currently does color commentary for Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball games, as well as sideline reporting and web/social media content for the Atlanta Dream WNBA team. In addition, she is also your Georgia Swarm sideline reporter! In her free time, Tabitha enjoys traveling, cuddling with her two pet cats, trying new fitness gyms and classes, and joining her friends at food festivals and music concerts when the weather is right. Her favorite place is the beach and she loves anything made of chocolate. Follow her on IG and Twitter @TabbyKat4787 to see what she’s up to day-to-day!
