One of the most tenured guys on the roster, Brett Manney returns to the organization bringing invaluable experience and leadership to the team. During his time at University of Delaware, Manney was a captain of the Blue Hens while leading the team to two NCAA tournaments, including a visit to the Final Four during his junior year. The Final Four visit was the best season in program history, even to this day. Following his time at Delaware, Manney was drafted by the Washington Bayhawks of the MLL in 2008. Despite never playing box lacrosse before, Manney signed as an undrafted free agent to the San Jose Stealth of the NLL that same year and has been a staple in the league ever since. Manney was a member of the 2010 championship team with the Stealth before taking his talents to Philadelphia where he played through the 2013 season. In his final season with the Wings, Manney made an incredible save diving behind his goalie to stop the ball from going into the net. That save was the top play on SportsCenter.

Manney then joined the New England Black Wolves ahead of the 2014 season and has been with the organization ever since providing leadership as a captain throughout much of that time. Aside from his MLL and NLL experience, Manney has represented Team USA at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships twice, in 2015 and 2019. Manney has heard a lot of great things about the Albany area and is looking forward to the excitement and energy that Capital Region fans will bring to the Times Union Center.
