Swarm to host lacrosse clinic in Columbus, Ga.

Camp on June 27 will be the Swarm's first one in Columbus

The 2017 NLL World Champion Georgia Swarm is proud to host a lacrosse clinic in Columbus, Ga. on Wednesday, June 27. In association with the Muscogee County School District and Sports Life Entertainment, the official bus service of the Georgia Swarm, the clinic will give many kids the opportunity to play lacrosse for the first time.

Swarm defenseman Bryan Cole and assistant captain Shayne Jackson will host the clinic, and Swarm mascot Stinger will be in attendance. The clinic is open to all K-12 students.

The camp will be the Swarm’s first camp in the Columbus area and is part of the team’s mission to grow the sport of lacrosse in the South. In addition to holding camps in the Atlanta area, the Swarm has held camps and clinics in Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.

“We are excited to be a part of growing the game outside of the Atlanta area,” Swarm President and Co-Owner Andy Arlotta said. “Bryan and Shayne are the perfect ambassadors to help spread the fundamentals of lacrosse and high character. Kids will be in for a treat learning from some of the best lacrosse players in the NLL.”

Cole, 24, just finished his second season with the Swarm. The defensive player saw time in all 18 games of the 2017-18 regular season and posted 14 points (6G, 8A). The University of Maryland alum collected 95 loose balls and caused 15 turnovers in his sophomore season.

Jackson, 27, is a six-year NLL veteran and one of the most consistently productive players in the league. He finished second in points in 2017-18 for the Swarm with 84, first in assists with 52, and scored 33 goals for the second most on the team. In his sixth season with the Swarm, the Limestone University product snagged 75 loose balls and finished the season with a .191 shot percentage.
