Swarm partners with TAPS for Heroes Night

Swarm to honor families of fallen heroes on March 18

The 2017 NLL World Champion Georgia Swarm is proud to partner with TAPS (The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) during the team’s third annual Heroes Night presented by Axiom Corporation on Sunday, March 18.

Through the partnership, local TAPS families will be given complimentary tickets to attend the game and will join the Swarm on the floor for pregame festivities. The fallen hero of each family will be honored in-game on the videoboard and each family will receive a custom Swarm jersey honoring their loved ones. In addition, Tiff’s Treats is donating $100 gift cards and goodie bags to each family.

“It’s an honor to partner with an organization like TAPS for our Heroes Night,” Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta said. “TAPS families have gone through the ultimate sacrifice and we are all forever grateful for their loved ones. We hope the opportunity to attend a Swarm game can give these families a fun, memorable evening with one another.”

“TAPS is incredibly grateful to the Georgia Swarm for creating this opportunity to honor America’s fallen heroes,” said TAPS Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, Diana Hosford. “The best way to honor the fallen is to recognize their families, a living legacy to their service and sacrifice for the freedom and protection of our nation.”

The TAPS sports program, teams4taps, creates meaningful opportunities for the surviving families of America’s military fallen by engaging with the athletes and teams they cheered for with their hero. teams4taps works with more than 150 sports teams across the country, and since its inception in 2013, has touched the lives of thousands of surviving military families.

In the fall of 2017, TAPS partnered with the Atlanta Falcons and head coach Dan Quinn for their Salute to Service game on Nov. 12.

During Heroes Night, the Swarm is proud to announce the return of Seats for Heroes, a program that donates game tickets to current military personnel, veterans and first responders, such as police and firemen. Seats for Heroes will allow many military and first responder families to attend the game at no cost. If you would like to donate seats to one of our hometown heroes, visit GeorgiaSwarm.com/SeatsForHeroes or please call 844-4-GASWARM.

Heroes Night will also feature a 12-minute musical military tribute at halftime and a 30-minute postgame performance from Wolfy’s America in the Atlanta Classic Cars Mercedes-Benz Goal Zone Club. The Swarm faces the Buffalo Bandits at 4:05 p.m. ET, and early arriving fans will receive a camo rally towel courtesy of Axiom Corporation.
